It
is the policy of the Miami-Dade County Clerk's Office to fully comply
with the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 by providing persons
with disabilities equal access to government, courts, hearings, services,
transportation, communications, and employment provided by Miami-Dade
County. In keeping with that policy, the Clerk is committed to
the implementation of compliance with the ADA as related to services
and jobs provided by the Clerk's Office. Miami-Dade
County provides accommodations for effective communication for people
with disabilities. Examples would include sign language interpreters,
assistive listening devices for people who are hearing impaired, and
also materials in accessible format for people who are blind or visually
impaired. Miami-Dade County also provides reasonable accommodations
to assist people with disabilities who are applying for County jobs,
and also accommodations for those in need to perform their duties
as County employees. All
requests for accommodations should be made at least seven (7) days in
advance. While it is County policy to reasonably
attempt to make accommodations whenever they are requested, time is
needed to arrange for sign language interpreters, or to convert materials
into Braille etc...
