Presently, the DIAL system is responding to approximately 4.2 million
calls a year. The special needs of the various Clerk's division
are satisfied in the following ways:
The
Child Support/Alimony (Central Depository) DIAL (Direct Information
Access Line) voice response system, (305) 275-1122, provides up-
to-the minute information on Child Support and Alimony payments
including date of payment receipt and disbursement and account balance.
Other available information consists of delinquency notices, payment
coupon information and methods of payment.
The
staff of the Child Support/Alimony Office (Central Depository)
of the Clerk's Office is committed to providing the public with
quality service. Its primary goal is to ensure that child support
and alimony payments are processed daily and in a timely manner.
The
Child Support/Alimony Office (Central Depository) Section processes
approximately 40,000 court-ordered child support and alimony cases
annually. The result of which is an annual disbursement of approximately
$52 million to legal custodians of children. During 1995, this office
implemented an automated tracking system which eliminated the use
of manual logs and introduced an enhanced mailing system. The mailing
system not only resulted in a reduction of postal costs, but also
expedited the disbursement of support payments. In addition, a plan
was developed with local businesses to ensure compliance with the
Florida State Statutes governing alimony and child support procedures.
The
Civil, Family and Probate Courts DIAL system allow
one to enter the case number of the appropriate court. The system
then provides the caller with the appropriate judicial section;
future hearing dates and locations; recorded documents with book
and page number references; docket entries which include monetary
amounts; docket entries pertaining to answers and defaults. Information
on current filing fees is easily available by accessing the Fee
Schedule link at the bottom of any section. For any additional information
regarding any of these courts, please access the appropriate section
in our web page.
The
County Recorder DIAL service provides the caller with information
regarding fees, liens and judgments; with automatic calculation
of fees and taxes for mortgages and deeds and the requirements for
recording a deed.
The
Criminal Court DIAL system offers information about felony
and misdemeanor cases. Upon entry of the case number, the caller's
request is verified by a return of the defendant's last name. If
the case number and name match, the caller will be given the judicial
section assignment, future court hearing information, the charges
(violations) and, if applicable, the close date and charge dispositions.
For any additional information, please access the Criminal Courts
section in our web page.
The
Domestic Violence DIAL option provides the caller with
directions on how to appeal to the courts for protection from spousal
abuse and harassment arising out of domestic violence situations.
Please refer to the Domestic Violence link above for further information.
Marriage
License Bureau DIAL is
accessed by selecting the appropriate option. The caller is then
given instructions on how to apply for a marriage license and the
necessary requirements for the same. At any time, the customer may
press "0" to speak to an operator. For any additional
information, please access the Marriage License section in our web
page.
The
Parking Violations Bureau DIAL system allows callers to
access information by entering either a specific citation number
or a vehicle tag number. If a citation number is entered, the system
returns the issue date, type of violation, vehicle description,
amount due (including delinquent costs and balance due, if partial
payment only was received) and future hearing date information,
if a court hearing was requested. Tag inquiries provide the caller
with the number of open tickets, total amount due (including penalties),
court status and if non-renewal or scofflaw status is applicable.
Payments are accepted for parking citations via MasterCard or Visa.
The
Traffic Court DIAL system provides information on traffic citations,
for example, disposition of cases; status of pending citations with
fines, costs and penalties due; future court hearings or address
information. Citation summary information and the status of one's
Florida Driver License is also available. A "Set for Court"
feature allows customers to request and have a case set for a court
hearing, if the case is not delinquent. Payments are accepted on
payable citations via MasterCard or Visa.
