Parking Citations

A parking citation is given to a vehicle that is found in violation of a County ordinance or state statute. By law, the registered owner of the vehicle is presumed to have received the citation.

All parking citations must be paid within 30 days of the date the citation is issued. Late fees and other penalties may be added if the owner fails to pay by the due date. Parking citations left unpaid for more than 90 days will be reported to an outside collection/credit reporting agency.

You may request a court hearing within 30 days of the issue date of the citation.

Make a Payment

You can make a payment online, by mail or by phone.

Pay by Mail
Please note - Payment must be sent so that it arrives before the date that a late payment penalty will apply.

You can send the payment by mail to:
Parking Violations Bureau
22 NW First Street, 4th floor
Miami, Florida 33128

Pay by Phone
You can pay through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System (available 24 hours) at 305-275-1133.

Pay in Person
Pay in person with a credit card, check, money order or cash at our Miami-Dade County Courthouse East Building.

If you are the registered owner of the vehicle, or a person named in an Affidavit to Transfer Liability by the owner as having custody of the vehicle at the time of the violation, you may raise your defense before the court.

If you are not the owner of the vehicle listed in the parking violation, you will need to submit an Affidavit to Transfer Liability from the owner.

You may contest the citation by requesting a review by an administrative hearing officer or by requesting a court hearing. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, court hearings are taking place in a remote setting using Zoom. To request an administrative review, request a payment plan or remove late fees, the owner of the vehicle or the person named in an affidavit by the owner as having care, custody and control of the vehicle at the time of the violation, may complete and submit a Motion for Relief with a copy of the driver’s license, and send via email to parkingCOC@MiamiDade.gov or via U.S. mail to Parking Violations Bureau, 22 NW First St. 4th Floor, Miami, FL  33128. Your request for a court hearing must be made within 30 days of the citation issue date. You may download the Request for Court Hearing or Motion for Relief forms and submit with a copy of the driver’s license, as explained above.

It is important to know when you request a court hearing:

  • The court may assess additional fines, not to exceed $100, plus court costs
  • Violators who fail to appear for court can be found guilty
  • If you are unable to appear or prefer to provide a written explanation of the violation, you must complete an Affidavit of Defense and return it to the Parking Violations Bureau before your scheduled hearing date

Submitting Evidence for your hearing

You must submit any documentation and/or evidence prior to your court date via email.  Please send the attachments to PVBevidence@miamidade.gov.  You must include your court date and citation number or tag number on the Subject Line.
NOTE: This email is exclusively for submitting evidence for cases already set for court, for any other Parking matters, please email ParkingCOC@miamidade.gov. Evidence must be submitted at least one business day in advance of the court date.
